Mid Valley Cowboy Worship, Hasty, Colorado

We have been to Mid Valley Cowboy Church at least once per year, every year since they started back in 2007. One year we done at two meetings with them! Jack Martin is the pastor, and the church is growing and lives are being touched by a wonderful group of believers in that area. This group prepares for revival, supports mission efforts like few do, and they have a great big heart for the Lord, and His work and workers!
We saw at least 7 saved this week, and even though it was very hot, the people came each evening! There was not a service that someone did not make a decision, people were praying and God was changing lives! Thanks to Frank Cornelius, his wife Karen, and their two sons, Chris and Samuel for leading in the music! The Martins prepared Dutch Oven cooked food each evening and everyone not only had a good time, they were blessed by all the wonderful fellowship. After the services, people would stand around for over an hour visiting and thanking the Lord for what He had done!

Mary and I are home now, starting a meeting near Welch, and believe me the temps are hot, we have had over 110 degrees every day since we been home, and it looks like it may start cooling off this coming Wednesday, we sure hope so! Thanks to everyone for their prayers and support for the work we are doing! You are such a blessing to us!

Antelope Valley Baptist Church, Gillette, Wyoming

It was a good week, well attended meeting, with an average of about 75 per service. Pastor Doug Rumsey and the church made us feel right at home! This was a true revival, more than an evangelistic crusade. We thank the Lord for those lives that were touched! It had been a long time since we had heard people sing like these folks did! Doug's wife, Jennifer played the piano and done a great job! We say that because not only did she play very well, she and Doug have 9 children!
The pictures show the services, Jennifer as she is playing with two of her little ones wanting something from mom! There were many children at the service, and each evening as people stayed for nearly an hour after the services, it was such a pleasure to see the children running and playing as the adults stood around visiting!
As we write, Mary and I are in Sidney, NE, at an RV park on the property of Cabelo's! Had nice visit at the store, and tomorrow we head south to Hasty, Colorado for a tent meeting that starts there Saturday evening.

Deer Trail Stadium Crusade

God tremendously blessed this meeting again this year. We were here two years ago, and He blessed then also. This year we had a different team with us, and they were very well received! Jim and Shirley Hayes from White Oak, Oklahoma came with us to prepare the meals, and O.V. and Tommy Keith provided the music. This was O.V.'s first meeting since March when he had to stop for a while due to his cancer treatments etc.   He is doing great, done a fantastic job and people over and over told us how much they appreciated hearing and singing those old hymns.
The pictures are of one of the services in the grandstand, and of Jim and Shirley Hayes as they wait to serve the delicious food they prepared. The Hayes provided a fish fry one evening and it was a tremendous hit! Attendance for this meeting was really good, and we want to express our thanks to both of the local Baptist Churches for their coming together to support this meeting. Two years ago, pastor Richard Keith basically put the meeting together, but about a year ago he passed away. His wife Sharon attended this year and it was good to see her. This year, pastor Dean Shepherd from Grace Baptist and Pastor Ralph Grosser from First Baptist did a good job of getting the word out about the meeting.   A great big special thanks to Zeb and Sue, Carl and Deloris for making sure we had what we needed and their great support for the work.
As we write, we are half way to Gillette, Wyoming to start a tent meeting there this Sunday. We will arrive tomorrow and start setting up. O.V. and Tommy are once again with us and we are looking forward to being with Pastor Doug Rumsey and he folks at Antelope Baptist Church. Praying we will also see many of the old friends from Westside Baptist while we are there.

Moline Community Fellowship, Moline, Kansas

We had a good meeting at Moline Community Fellowship, with Pastor Gary Boles, and his wife Dianne, along with the other folks there. They are a small group but they have a great big heart! The love offering these folks gave us was tremendous, our prayer is God will bless them greatly for thier love and care for Mary and I. The pictures are of one of the evening services on the presentation we conducted on God and Country, and of Gary and his wife. The church faithfully supported the meeting and even though the temps were well over 100 degrees, the came! We were glad we were not in a tent this week!!!!
Mary and I leave for Deer Trail, Colorado later this week, along with Jim and Shirly Hayes who will be doing the cooking at the meeting. We are excited also because this will be the first meeting the Keiths have been able to be with us since he had to cancel some meetings because of his health problems. He seems to be doing really well and will be leading the music for us these next two meetings. The one Deer Triail and the other in Gillette, Wyoming! Appreciate your prayers for us these next few weeks as we travel several thousand miles again taking the Word of God where we are directed! Thanks so very much!

First Baptist Church, Rogerson, Idaho

We finished four meetings, in two weeks with the last at First Baptist Church, Rogerson, Idaho. God blessed with good attendance there and a mother of four getting saved! The Grindstaffs are great folks and we enjoyed being with them for this meeting! Already they are planning for next year and doing a tent meeting at local lake site. They are really a mission minded group that have given up a lot to minister to the folks in Idaho. May the Lord continue to bless them!
Mary and I are on our way home, spending the night here in Goodland, Kansas, should be home about the middle of the afternoon tomorrow, Lord Willing.
The four meetings in Idaho were a great success, with many souls being saved, fact all four places recorded salvation's! PTL!
Our thanks to Jeff and Donna Gore for taking the time to come and be with us to lead the music, they always do a tremendous job of preparing the hearts for the message from the Word of God.

We thank each of you for following us and keeping up with what the Lord is doing in the meetings! We will be home for a few days, then off again to Colorado and Wyoming for more meetings! God has blessed us again with a good schedule for 2011. We are praying for Him to fill our schedule for 2012, so if you all will join us in that prayer, we sure will appreciate it! FSBC Gooding, ID Work crew and tent meeting

The tent meeting and work project went well. The crew removed a ceiling and installed 32 sheets of sheet-rock and got about half of it mudded and taped before they had to leave for home. The tent meeting went very well, with seven precious souls saved! God blessed tremendously!
This was our third meeting since we arrived here about two weeks ago. We have one more to go, starting tomorrow in Rogerson, ID.
The pictures show some of the work plus the crew that worked so hard this week! Thanks to Pastor Larry Kelley and all the wonderful folks at FSBC here for all they done to make us feel right at home. They provided us great meals each evening and supported the tent meeting very well.

We finished tonight, loaded the tent and will head to Rogerson in the morning, set up tomorrow afternoon and hold the first service there tomorrow evening! Moore Ranch Revival, Buhl, Idaho

This was our third year at the Tim and Jan Moore Ranch in Buhl, Idaho. Tim and Jan has had a burden to reach the people in their area with the Gospel of of Jesus Christ. They work hard all year preparing for the ranch tent revival held right out their back door! We set up a tent, they invite folks, and Jan serves pies coffee and everyone has a great time. This year, on Saturday evening a local group prepared Dutch Oven Cooked food and it was great! We had over 150 people show up, enjoy the meal, then the music presented by Jeff Gore and they we preached following the music. God moved in the hearts of those people! We had at least 11 pray to receive Jesus! It was an exciting evening, we know of one family of four that came forward for salvation! What an evening! The evening before we had over 70 show up, and one precious lady, 85 years old, gave her heart to Jesus! She told me she never wanted to loose that joy she felt that night! That evening there were others that prayed to receive Christ! Only God knows the total, but we know this, peoples lives were changed because of the work, love and sacrifice of Tim and Jan Moore! We love them and thank the Lord for them! Plans are being made for next year! This year the small tent we brought overflowed with people sitting outside on hay bales and on a wagon parked behind the tent! My oh my, God is so good!
Thanks to everyone that has prayed, given and supported the work we do, without you and your love for what we are doing, it would be hard to do what we do! Thanks so very much!

Tri State Cowboy Camp in Colorado, and Wendell, ID

It has been a couple of weeks since we posted anything. After Rolling Hills Cowboy Camp, we moved to the Tri State Cowboy Camp in Springfield, CO. God saved one souls there. Jack Martin preached all the evening services and I done the two morning ones. On Sunday Morning I preached at Springfield Baptist Chapel and thank the pastor Jerry Ellis for inviting me to do so. We have been with them before and appreciate them very much.

After the Springfield meetings, we headed home to unload the large tent and load up the smaller on and take off for our annual mission trip to Idaho. It is about 1500 miles one way and up hill all the way!! We had truck problems, but made it in and set up for the tent meeting at Berean Baptist Church. God blessed us there, we had a man saved on Sunday evening and good crowds each evening. We move to the Tim Moore Ranch for a meeting Friday and Saturday. This will be our third time there and have always had a great meeting.

We took our truck to the shop on Monday but they could not find any reason for the loss of power, and done a computer module change and we are hoping that fixes the problem. We will know when we hook on the trailer and head home after next week.

The pictures are of the tent set up at Tri State and of Jeff and Donna Gore singing at Wendell. Jeff and Donn have made this trip with us for the last five years and have always done a great job.

My knee is still giving me a lot of problems, pain, swelling etc. We will be here one more week then head home and maybe we can get in to the doctor again and they can find out what is going on. Meanwhile, thanks for your prayers and support for the work God has called us into. Have a great day!!

Rolling Hills Camp Meeting, Lamar, CO

This past week, we were preaching the Rolling Hills Cowboy Camp Meeting in Lamar, CO. Mary and I have been there each year since their first camp 18 years ago! Also, this year, on Saturday, June 4th, Mary and I celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary! God blessed with several souls saved and lives changed for the Glory of Jesus Christ!
We missed O.V, and Tommy Keith this year, but we were blessed by the music of George and Karen Abbas from Denver, CO.
We are asking for your prayers, for the last 8 weeks now, we have been bothered with a swollen right knee, been to the doctor twice, but so far nothing but rest will help. We have another doctor's appointment next week, hopefully they can find out what is going on. The more I use it the worse it swells and hurts, sometimes swelling to almost twice the size of the other knee. If I stay off my feet, it gets better. Thanks in advance for the prayers!

Area Tent Crusade in Arapahoe, Colorado

This was our first tent meeting in Arapahoe, Co, although we have been with the Arapahoe Community Churches a few times before. Pastor Tom Burch has been there 28 years, and does a tremendous job as pastor! The folks love him and they have a great, great, fellowship of believers.
The meeting was great, several folks saved and great meals prepared by Jack and Carolyn Martin! We finished today with the morning service and dinner on the grounds. Took down the tents, and headed home. Mary and I got about 50 miles west of Dodge City, Kansas and the wind was blowing so hard that we nearly lost control of the truck and trailer. The weather announcements said for high profile vehicles to get off the road. We slowly continued on to Dodge City and we have pulled in for the evening, will leave early in the morning to head on home. On of the pictures show just how bad the driving conditions were. Another pictures shows one of the services. As always, Jack and Carolyn Martin done a great job preparing the meals, and Amber and her grand parents, Joe and Zoretta Ornby down a tremendous job with the music.

It was great to see souls saved, lives changed, and experience the love and fellowship of a great bunch of Christians there in Arapahoe, Colorado!

FBC Balmorhea, Texas

First, we apologize for having no post last week, however when we tried to post the site was down. By the time it was back up and running we were in a place with no Internet Connections!

Last week Mary and I was back with the folks at FBC, Balmorhea, Texas. A good, small group of Christians that are trying hard to reach the area with the Gospel of Jesus. They are doing a lot of work and indeed are having some new folks attend the church. Our thanks to those faithful saints who are working in the community.

We conducted a Bible Study on some basic doctrines of the Church. The study was not as well attended as we had hoped, but those that did come seemed to have a good time in learning the teachings! The pictures are the same ones we posted on our web blog.

We are entering into a new area now, which we trust will be a good move. As we get more involved with the project we will share more of the details. Right now, as it stands, starting on July 1, 2011, on every Friday, for the next four months, SCM will have a program air at 9:00 AM and at 9:00 PM CDT. It is a live feed so people in other time zones will also be able to see it. Their times will be different due to the time zones. In other words, the program will air at 10:00 Eastern, 9:00 Central, 8:00 Mountain, etc. It is also my understanding it will be world wide. It is via Internet Streaming process, which we know little about, but hoping to learn more as time marches on. We are launching with a new organization called Christianity Television, and we are excited about the new venture! Keep checking back with us as we learn more details.

FBC Oilton, Oklahoma

This is the type of meeting we would like to see each and every week! God truly blessed with a tremendous outpouring of His Spirit and we saw multiple decisions every service. Pastor Larry Calvert and his wife Diane, and all the wonderful folks at the church worked hard, invited people, prayed for days before the meeting for the Lord to do something. They were so excited with some of those that got saved were the very ones they had been praying for in the cottage prayer meetings leading up to the revival!
We had planned on a tent meeting, but the weather was so cold and rainy that we met inside the new building which is almost done. They still have some work to do, but it was finished enough we could use it for this meeting.
Jack and Carolyn Martin prepared some Dutch Oven cooked meals and Paul and Christy Newberry led the music. Everyone had a good time and thanked the Lord for what He has done!!
We are now home for a few days before leaving for a tent meeting in Cleo Springs, OK. That meeting will start on Mother's Day and we are expecting the Lord to bless greatly. Bro. Charles Newton is the pastor and we spoke with him today and he shared how he has been visiting people every day and there was a lot of excitement for the meeting.
We also are taking our trailer back to the shop so they can continue to work on the damage done when the cap came off the new tire. Goodyear has agreed to pay for all the damages and have already issued us a check. Now to get it done before we leave again.

God and Country Presentation at FBC Jennings, OK

The folks at First Baptist Church of Jennings are some of the most wonderful, generous, loving , caring and praying people we know! We have been with them several times in the years past and as always they provided us with great meals, fellowship and a tremendously generous love offering far exceeding the normal, and way more than we deserved! Pastor Mark Compton and the church are just a real blessing to the people of the area and to anyone that knows them! They have invited us back to do a large tent crusade on their property in which four other churches will take part in supporting. It will be in September and we sure appreciate your prayers as they are doing what they can to reach the people in Jennings with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It was a sad time in one way because one couple in the church, very special to Mary and I had a son die a few weeks ago and we were not aware of it until we arrived at the meeting. Our hearts and prayers go out to Doug and Jean Sparks for the loss of their son.

Hodgen First Baptist Church

Howdy Folks!
We are glad you checked in. We are somewhat late in posting some pictures and notes, but the last couple of weeks we have not had good Internet connections and just could not get things to download properly!
We had a good meeting with Terry Jarrard and the great folks at FBC Hodgen, OK. Our meeting went from Sunday thru Friday, and we faced some difficulties but God is in control and all worked out well. There were two people who had passed away, one on the Saturday we arrived, and the other during the week. That hurt our attendance some but we still had good crowds and the people seemed to really be interested in the Bible Study on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ! Also, a tornado hit during the week, damaging several homes and buildings in the area. Quite a week for sure.
One of the pictures is of the cooks, Bro. Ron and his wife, who prepared and served a meal each evening during the week! Out hats are off to them for a great job, well done!

Bob Whitchurch and his wife Donna helped us this week, doing the music and everyone sure enjoyed them very much. The other pictures are of Bob, Donna, Mary and myself along with pastor Terry Jarrard and his wife Debbie. Another is of the music team which did a great job! The other is of the folks enjoying one of the wonderful meals! We thank the Lord for allowing us to be there. They are a small church with a great big heart! They not only gave us a tremendously generous love offering, but also paid our travel expenses and took care of the RV park where we had to stay. We made a lot of new friends and are looking forward to seeing them again, either here, there or in the air!

Black River Baptist Church, Williamsville, MO

We had a good meeting at Black River Baptist. Pastor Henry Pasquet and his wife Wanda are wonderful folks and as hard a working couple that we know! He is a pastor that still visits his flock and teaches with great knowledge of the Bible.
We had several decisions and thank the Lord for what He done. The church is said to be the third oldest Baptist Church west of the Mississippi River. It was started in 1818.

Thanks to a great group of folks, they treated Mary and I very well, took good care of us, fed us, and every evening there were cookies, pies, coffee etc after the service.

We ask that you keep them in prayer. On the Monday before we arrived on Saturday, a young mother committed suicide, although she didn't attend the church often, her children, and her mother and father are faithful members. It was a very tragic event and our prayers go out to those precious children and the family!

Mary and I will be leaving Saturday for FBC, Hodgen, Oklahoma. It will be good to once again be with Pastor Terry Jarrard and his lovely wife Debbie. We were with them when he was pastor at West Oak in Bartlesville, OK. This is a longer meeting, Sunday thru Friday and we will be doing the Second Coming Bible Study and ending with evangelistic services. Bobby Whitchurch and his wife Donna will be leading the music. We appreciate your prayers for us this coming week.

Our trailer is to be out of the shop in the morning, but is not yet fixed all the way. They are getting us fixed up so we can use the trailer and will finish up when we can leave it with them for a while. Thanks to Bell Camper Sales in Barlesville, OK for really working with us and doing a great job of taking care of our needs!

Calvary Baptist Church, Honey Island,Texas

We finished tonight, good meeting, many decisions for rededications and prayers. As far as we know we did not have anyone saved, but this was a church revival, Christians who drew closer to the Lord and the work before them! Thanks to Pastor Jim Cyrer, his wife Callie, and all the wonderful folks here! They treated Mary and I very well and we are praying for the Lord to really use them in this area! Pictures are of Angle Billings, who has been singing for Jesus since she was 2 years old, and is only 7 now! She does a great job! The other is of some of the folks before one of the services!

We will head out in the morning, plan on going all the way home tomorrow, so we can get out trailer in the shop Friday. Thanks to everyone for your prayers! We ask that you pray for our next meeting near Poplar Bluff, MO. A young mother, who's children are in the church where we are going, committed suicide Monday morning. Two of her children had accepted Jesus Christ on Sunday. Our hearts go out to the family, those precious little kids, and to Pastor Henry and his wife Wanda as they minister to those kids and the family! Thank you for praying for them. In addition, we were notified last night by another pastor in New Mexico that a mother of 6 there, also committed suicide. May God help our nation! Oh God, when there is help in Jesus, why do we have so many who refuse to allow Him to help? JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR THE WORLD TODAY! Thanks to everyone who is helping us get that message out!

Calvary Baptist Church, Honey Island, TX,

We have been here since Sunday, good friendly folks! They are treating Mary and I great, and the fellowship is good. We have had some decisions every service, but as of yet no one has been saved! The people love him and attendance has been good.
We finish up tomorrow evening and will be heading home so we can get our trailer unloaded, and then delivered to the RV Dealer so they can repair the damage caused when the tire blew out coming down to Honey Island.
Next week, Mary and I will be staying in a motel in Poplar Bluff, MO. Please pray for that meeting! We visited with the pastor last night and yesterday, a young mother with four little children took her own life. As we understand she did not go to church, but her children attended quite regularly. Please pray for the little children, and for the pastor and his wife as they do their best to minister to the family.
What a hurtful world we are living in. Lord Jesus, may your love and compassion be on those who are so suffering over this, as well as other tragedies!

Home From Arizona and New Mexico

We made it home ok! A long trip, Arizona, Old Mexico, and New Mexico but we are rejoicing in the Lord and thanking Him for what He has done in those three meetings! Just to be present and see How God works when people are excited; well as the old saying goes, it makes one feel better all over more than anywhere else!! Wow it was a good round of meetings, sure wish everyone could be the same way!
We are home for a couple of days and then head out to Honey Island, Texas for a revival meeting at Calvary Baptist Church. Spoke with the pastor and he said they are all ready and excited there also! From there to Poplar Bluff, MO, then to Hodgen, OK.
this last Friday and Saturday, we were at Boot Hill RV Resort for a two session meeting on The Signs of the Second Coming of Christ. That presentation normally takes four services, but we done some working and reworking on the study and presented it in two one hour sessions! We saw the Lord work in some lives, souls saved and several rededications! The decisions are unusual in an RV park due to the different people there from all over the country, but God worked in their hearts an we are so thankful for new souls in the Kingdom of God!

It was sort of exciting to see the moon on Saturday evening with the news it was closer to the earth than before in recent years! The picture above is of the moon setting on Sunday morning at the RV park where we held the meetings. Jesus said there would be signs in the heavens, that is not one of them, but that was an interesting sight to see! God bless each of you and thanks for your prayers and for visiting our blog! Amado Baptist Church, Tent Meeting

Wow, what a meeting! God surely blessed with many saved, many more rededications, some for baptism, and some for church membership! Pastor Rick Bloxton and the folks at Amado Baptist prayed, worked, invited and really supported the meeting. They said a normal Sunday Evening crowd was about 50, we had nearly 80 on Sunday evening, and over 100 each night afterwards! Praise the Lord!
Jack and Carolyn Martin, O.V. and Tommy Keith, Mary and myself have been conducting these tent meetings for several years now, and God has always blessed! We feel it is a team that God has put together and He sure has given us some great meetings! Praise be to the Lord!!!
The pictures are of the folks eating under the dining tent, the crowd at the services, and a picture of the entrance to the prison in Coborca, Mexico where I preached on Tuesday! That was an awesome service with many inmates indicating they prayed and asked Jesus Christ to be Lord and Saviour of their lives!
We are now in Boot Hill R.V Resort and had our first service tonight, it was a good crowd! We will put up pictures after the meeting is over!

Here are some pictures from the great meeting at Cowboy Calvary Worship. They have a very nice building, a friendly group of hard working folks! There was not a service that did not have new people! Some brought people with them and others were invited. Through the years we made many wonderful friends in the area and it was such a blessing for Mary and I to see them again!

Pictures show the building, outside and inside, the folks waiting for baptism the last night, and of the congregation. It was such a blessing to be there again, and as always, Jack Martin did a good job of keeping everything rolling along, getting the horse tank to use for the baptismal service! As always, the church treated us well, gave a good love offering and took care of our RV parking! These are a very generous people whom God is using in a marvelous way!

Cowboy Calvary Worship, Holly, Colorado

We finished tonight at Cowboy Calvary Worship, Holly, Colorado. God blessed us with another great meeting here! This was our third or fourth time to be here and these folks really prepare for revival! We presented our God and Country Bible Study via power point! We saw souls saved and lives touched! The attendance grew each service, more than doubling the last two nights, with tonight the largest of the week! In all, 7 people were baptized tonight. See the pictures here and on Facebook after we post them tomorrow. One lady that was saved this week decided against baptism tonight because of the horse tank we used. She still came forward and sat on the platform as the others were baptized! Some of those that were baptized were saved before the revival this week.
The church is pastorless at the moment, but Jack Martin is helping them all he can. Please pray for them as they decided what the Lord is directing them to do. We will be going back later in the year for a tent meeting, Lord willing!

Little Vineyard RV Park

The Lord keeps opening doors for us to do the God and Country Presentation and we are so thankful! It is a three session program we conduct using a power point and deals with the founding of our country and the way God has dealt with us as a result of the choices our country has made. The study is taking the Word of God, the beliefs of our Founding Fathers, and how we have drifted from those beliefs. Again, the study has been very well received and we have received many wonderful comments concerning it. The pictures show O.V and his wife Tommy doing specail music an then him leading music and the small but very receptive crowd that came to the meeting!

We will be leaving here for Holly, Colorado, where we will start the study once again this coming Sunday. When we finish there on Wednesday, we will return home to load our tent and head to Amado, AZ. There we will rejoin O.V. and Tommy Keith, along with Jack and Carolyn Martin for a large area wide old fashioned cowboy tent meeting! As some may know the area is only few miles north of Mexico, and has a rich history! John Wayne used to spend a lot of time there, and we will be setting up three tents just a few hundred yards from the restaurant he used to frequent regularly! Pastor Rick Bloxton of Amado Baptist Church has already done a lot of work in preparation and we are praying this meeting will result in a great harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God! Appreciate your prayers as we will be traveling thousands of miles in the next month conducting these meetings! From Deming, New Mexico, to Holly, Colorado, to Lenapah, Oklahoma, to Amado, Arizona, then to Alamogordo, New Mexico, then to near Beaumont, Texas before getting back home! We praise the Lord He is keeping us busy!!!!

Cowboy Valentine Program

Last night we had our annual Cowboy Valentine Program. Even with a foot of snow still on the ground, the parking lot not completely clear, and a week of the coldest temps on record for our area, people still came! We had considered cancelling the program, but when people kept calling and saying if we were having it they would come, we decide to go ahead! Attendance was down a lot, but we still had 81 show up. A good meal, music and a message from the Word of God and three people prayed to receive the Lord Jesus into their lives! Our thanks to Mary, our daughter Sheri and the rest of our family who worked hard to put this on. We also thank Shirley Hayes and Charlotte Gardner for helping during the meeting in keeping food and drinks available to those in attendance!

Mary and I are here with O.V. and Tommy Keith, doing our God and Country Presentation. The weather has sure not been what we would like, but people are coming and those that have come are saying great things about the presentation. We are meeting in a pavilion, that has some heat, but for the most part it has been really cool each service, the photo shows the inside temp last night! What is amazing is people will stand around for 35 to 40 minutes after the presentation talking about what they have seen! This morning, the local radio station interview O.V. along with the owner of the resort, James Livers, and myself and we were on the air for 30 minutes. The owner of the radio station was in attendance last night and was touched by the presentation!
We have one more service tonight and then will attend church this Sunday with Rick and Karen Steele. Rick is the pastor and he and his wife are very good friends of Mary and me.
Next week we will be heading back home, will post more later!

First Baptist Church, Balmorhea, Texas

Mary and I finished the God and Country Presentation last night at FBC, Balmorhea, Texas. God saved one man and a woman rededicated her life to serve the Lord Jesus! The folks at Balmorhea are a small group but they really are seeking a way to serve the Lord and want so very much to reach the people of their area! Our hearts go out to them and we always look forward to being with them! We have been going there every year since 1997 and the Lord has always blessed in a great way!

Sorry we do not have any pictures! We got Mary and new camera for Christmas and we both have been so busy and neither one of us thought to take some pictures of the meeting. It has been a hard few weeks, with the deaths of several very close friends! Fact we had three funerals in the last week before we left for Balmorhea. It has been a very hard year, we have lost four board members in the last few months. Lee Carter, Jack Lowery, Glendene Brinker and Jim Willimson, all precious saints and we surely will miss them. Jim was the latest and I preached his funeral on Thursday, finished at 3:00 PM, rushed home, Mary and I jumped in the truck and headed to Balmorhea. Drove the nearly 800 miles all that night, arriving Friday morning, and started the meeting that evening. That is really no excuse for forgetting the pictures but it will have to do! Ha Ha!

We are now in Alamogordo, NM. We start tomorrow evening at Boot Hill RV Park with the presentation again, and we are with O.V. and Tommy Kieth this week. Please pray for O.V., he is fighting cancer but still serving the Lord and we are trusting the Lord will really bless this week!

Wow, what a meeting! God blessed us with nearly 200 in attendance, fact is, when everyone was counted, we had 193, what a meeting! God saved 13 souls, 7 others made re commitments and there were other decisions and prayer requests!

The pictures tell the story of what God did in bringing folks to the meeting!!

Herman Cramer and his lovely wife Judell joined us, and Herman preached a great and heart touching message, and we thank him so much. He and Judell are great people, and I know very few that have a heart for God and His people like these two do. They took of their time to come to the cold country to help us, and made no request nor accepted any love offering or pay for their services! Few will do that today, and our hearts go out to such wonderful people that truely give their all for the work of the Lord Jesus! Above all that, 13 precious souls are now in the Kingdom of God because of what they have done!

Paul and Christy Newberry did the music and believe me friends, there is no one that we know that can sing the song, "The Blood Covered It All" than these two! They do a tremendous job of ministering in music and they also left the warm country of Texas to come to the fridged temps we had this week end! Thanks to them for their God given talent to minister in music! Again, 13 precious souls are now in the Kingdom of God!

Friends, let me tell you for sure, our hats go off to my wife Mary, and our daughter, Sheri for the work those two done in preparing a Chicken Fried Steak Meal with all the trimmings, to feed that crowd! Not only that, they provided a "Grazing Table" with all kinds so snacks for folks to work on while waiting for the meal. They started working the day before, went from 6:30 AM to 9:30 that evening without a break! I do not know anyone else that would do that for no money, not seeking any thanks or glory, but only because they love the Lord and the people of this area and want them to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ! Hear they did, and did so on a full stomach!

Please pray for us as we plan for the next one, Lord Willing. It is a lot of expense, hard work, and demands a lot of time to plan and prepare.

We only write this last part because so many ask, but no, we do not take an offering during meeting, do not even have any donation boxes out. The meal, program and gifts are for those that attend and there is no charge. We depend up on the Lord to provide all it takes, and believe me, He has never failed us in doing so! Thanks be to our God and His Son, Jesus Christ!!! Praise the Lord!

WE ARE BACK

It was fun, great time, but glad to be back on the land! The cruise was one we will never forget, and a great 50th wedding anniversary gift from some wonderful special friends, who without their help we most likely would not have been able to go!

We were treated like kings and queens, lots of food and things to do. We thank the Lord for His protection and grace shown to us.

The pictures are some of the trip, ship and then the church we preached at yesterday morning. A nice little country church with some very nice people. Their pastor was gone for the week, and he asked me to preach for him, which we did. He pastors two churches, we did the services at both, this one, and the other was in Moline, Kansas where we have been a couple of times before.

Now to get caught up on everything we got behind on! Leaving for Arapahoe, Colorado for a meeting there this weekend. God bless each one of you!

Rose Hill Revival

We just finished the last scheduled revival for 2010. We have three more engagements, a one day preaching schedule in Kansas, a two day God and Country Presentation in Colorado, and our annual Cowboy Bunkhouse Christmas program in Lenapah. Our meeting at Rose Hill was good, some made decisions and we certainly enjoyed being with the folks again. It was sad that one of our good friends was not able to attend due to an accident at his work last week. He ended up in the hospital. We are continuing to pray for Jack and know he soon will be up and doing the work he so much loves to do for the Lord Jesus!

Sorry we do not have any pictures, for some reason they did not turn out, know it was operator error! Mary normally takes the pictures, but I tried to this time and something went wrong!

We will be out of pocket, so to speak, for the next 10 days, so looking forward to getting back and settled in for the winter! May the Lord bless each of you! Have a good day!

Black River Baptist Church

We finished a good meeting at Black River Baptist Church, near Poplar Bluff, MO. The church has quite a history, it is the third oldest Baptist Church west of the Mississippi River! Pastor Henry Pasquet and his wife Wanda have been our friends for many years and we have been with him in revival in at least three churches! The members were so friendly, loving and helping, attended very faithfully and they gave us a very generous love offering! God saved at least one soul, but other decisions were made and over all it was a very good meeting! The fall colors were out and the area a nice place to see this time of the year!

We will be in revival this coming Sunday thru Wednesday at Rose Hill Baptist Church, near Dewey, Oklahoma. It is the last revival before Mary and I take our 50th wedding anniversary cruise! We return on the 13th of November and on the 14th will be at Moline Community Church in Moline, Kansas, then on to Arapapho, Colorado the following week! God has continued to bless and we thank Him for giving us places to preach, and we thank you all for praying and supporting the work we do!

Twin Oaks Baptist, Wagoner, OK

We sure appreciate Dr. Wes Graver, his wife Lis, as well as all the great and supportive folks at Twin Oaks Baptist. Mary and I have been there about every other year for over 10 years, and always appreciate the way these folks take care of us! We had a 10:30 AM Bible Study each morning with a meal following, and we presented our God and Country series during the Bible Study time. The attendance grew and it was well received. Then at 6:00 each evening we ate again! I told them I was leaving there a bigger man than I was when I came, about 10 pounds bigger!!!!

We pray for Twin Oaks Baptist, attendance grew as the meeting progressed, as far as we know, there were no salvations, but we were told over and over that many felt it was a true Church Revival. After all, that is what a revival is for, the Church. We thank these precious folks for making the sacrifice in time and effort each service!

Tent Crusade in Balmorhea, Texas, 2010

This years meeting in Balmorhea, Texas was tremendous! Three teams of evangelists, all working together for one cause, to preach and teach Jesus Christ, praying for souls to be saved and lives to be changed! God answered those prayers! We realize that revivals, crusades or what ever one would want to call these meetings, do not happen without a lot of work, prayer and promoting! First Baptist Church of Balmorhea has worked and prayed, and the Lord blessed! This team of evangelists have worked together before, and as before, God blessed in a large way. The music for this meeting was led by Jeff Gore, who also helped in the Cowbell Preaching. Team cooks, Jack Martin and his wife Carolyn. Jack also preached a couple of services in addition to the Cowbell Preaching service. My wife Mary, works where ever she is needed, help in putting up and taking down the tents, video, pictures, as well has helping the Martins in the kitchen. We also this year were blessed when Arnold and Ruby Billings arrived, along with their granddaughter, Angel, who helped with some special music.

There were five services, and we had people saved in each one. Eleven saved in all, along with several others who made re dedications. The pictures are of most of those that came forward for salvation and re dedications. Along with the preaching teams and others. Because the pastor at FBC asked and the church agreed, it was felt that those getting saved should be baptized and since our team was there, they asked that we do it. We appointed Jeff Gore and the official baptizer! See his picture!

Our thanks to everyone who has prayed and helped us in doing these type meetings. We often hear people say, "How can you afford to drive nearly 2000 miles to do meetings at far out of the way places like Balmorhea"? My answer has always been and continues to be, "How can I not do it"? God is the provider, the one who makes sure we have what it takes, and He has never let us down! He uses people to help us go, so they too can have a part in what is happening! Thanks to each one that helps!

We left Balmorhea, Texas on Thursday, drove to Glen Rose, Texas to meet James and Lois Rogers. Last night we attended a play in Cleburne, Texas called Smoke on the Mountain, the Sanders family Homecoming. It was great, the setting for the play was Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and a Saturday night singing taking place! It was so good to sit, laugh and have a good time with great friends and supporters of our ministry! A great family play!!! We leave here for a revival at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, near Wagoner, Oklahoma, where we start this coming Sunday!

West Bartlesville Tent Meeting

The meeting was well attended, everyone had a good time. God blessed with several decisions made for Jesus! We say thanks again to the Director of Missions, Paul Kounce, of the Washington Osage Association. Also to the churches that took part and helped with the project. Wally Thames from Virgina Avenue Baptist, Mike McNear from Labadie Heights Baptist, Dave Compston from Westside Baptist and Randy White from West Oak Baptist. Also to the folks at Trinity Baptist.
Notice the picture of the Choir, thanks to music director Gary Bowers for his willingness to have a choir, something a lot of churches no longer have. Those folks had a good time and blessed everyone with their music. Gary did a great job in leading us in worship, he is from Bartlesville Southern Baptist! We also thank Mac from West Oak and Randy for playing the instruments during the worship time!

Thanks again to everyone who took part! It was indeed a great time of fellowship and worshiping the Lord Jesus! On Sunday evening the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief team served a delicious meal.

First Southern Baptist Church, Oswego, KS

Just completed a revival at FSBC, in Oswego, KS. Jim and Shirley Hayes brought their trailer and stayed with us to help Mary prepare the meals. Jim and Shirley furnished the fish and prepared them for the church on Tuesday evening, it was Great! Our thanks to Pastor Ed Williamson and his church for having us. It was a good meeting and decisions of some sort were made each service! It was our first time to be with this church and enjoyed the folks very much. Bob Whitchurch led the music and did a great job, the folks really liked his enthusiasm and charm! The pictures are of the preparing of one of the meals, the food and of the folks getting ready to "chow down"!
We arrived home today, will load up the large tent and head to Bartlesville, Oklahoma on Saturday for a five church crusade starting Sunday morning thru Wednesday evening! Please pray for us as we do what we can to reach the lost and unchurched in that area.

Great Tent Meeting at Woodward, OK

What a week! We have been going to Elm Street Baptist Church every year since 2002, and each time God blesses with souls saved and lives changed. This year was no different! The week started with the tent raising on Saturday, the pastor, his son and another couple of men were there, and we got up in good shape. Then Sunday Morning we met inside the building as normal, and God really moved with 6 re dedications and others joining the church! On Sunday afternoon, Jack and Carolyn Martin arrived, they prepared three meals for the week! Jack preached on Sunday evening with a lady coming forward. I resumed preaching on Monday, and more decisions! On Tuesday evening we had "Cowbell Preaching". This is something the pastor started several years ago and each year God has used it to save souls! There were six preachers, and myself. Each of the six preached 6 minutes, except one who got up and said he was yielding his time to me at the end. Then we tried to tie all the messages from the five others together, and give the invitation. God moved tremendously, more decisions! Jeff Gore led the music, and also helped on Tuesday evening with the "Cowbell Preaching". I then finished up last night. The pastor told us in all, four were saved and six re dedications, two joined, and many other decisions! It was a great meeting. Attendance was good, and the church worked hard!
When we first started going there, it was in the middle of July. They decided to change to the middle of September to escape the heat. Well, this year, on Sunday it was in the upper 90's, Monday , over 100, Tuesday again over 100, Wednesday, again over 100 degrees! Fact is, we understand Wednesday that Woodward, OK was the hottest place in the nation!

Thanks to Elm Street Baptist Church, and Pastor Mark Kurzel for anther great meeting. These do not happen with out a church that has prayed, planned and promoted the meeting! Thanks to Jack and Carolyn, Jeff and Donna. Thanks to my lovely wife Mary for doing so much in all that heat to help have a great meeting!
We are now home, and heading to Oswego, Kansas on Saturday!

Timbo, Arkansas Meeting

We have returned back home from Timbo, Arkansas. We were there with Calvary Baptist Church and the Timbo Assembly of God Church. Pastors Danny Robbins from Calvary and Dave Campbell from the Assembly were such wonderful hosts. God blessed the meeting, as attendance grew each service, with three times the numbers on Sunday night than we had on Friday evening! Praise the LOrd! Jack and Carolyn Martin done the cooking and Jack helped in the preaching, each of us doing two services. God blessed with souls being saved and lives being touched.

The food was great, as you can see from the number of people under the eating tent. The little girl singing is Angel Billings, she is seven years old and does a tremendous job in presenting the Gospel through music. She is the great granddaughter of Arnold and Ruby Billings from Woodville, Texas who came to Timbo to visit his sister and to help with the music.

We will be preaching at First Baptist Church, Jennings, OK., this coming Sunday, then starting a tent meeting the following Sunday at Elm Street Baptist Church, in Woodward, OK.

We are still praying about trading trailers, no decision has been reached as of yet, but we feel we need to do something soon. Appreciate your prayers for us as we weigh the options, view our 2011 schedule, and seek the opportunities the Lord provides for us to minister. I am not sure that in my life time there has been any greater need for the Gospel Jesus Christ to be preached than right now! There is such a falling away from the truths of God's Word. We see many seeking, running here and there to find the Word of the Lord. Reminds me of what Amos said about the last days, Am 8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

San Luis Valley Tent Meeting, Southfork, CO

We finished the tent meeting last night! God blessed so wonderfully! We registered over 200 people with an average attendance of nearly 130 per service! Although this was a Bible Study on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, we had two adults saved and several rededications! The weather was cool, with rain on two of the evenings, but the people still came. Jack and Carolyn Marting with their son Rowdy, prepared a Dutch Oven Cooked meal each evening, and O.V. Keith led the music program! The people were so pleased to see a meeting with music they could understand, and in which they could sing and take part!

As many know we have been doing a Bible Study on this subject for several years. We have added so much new material that we had to change the study almost completly in order to get everything presented within a 45 minute time frame!

We are headed home and should be there tomorrow. Home for a few days, then we head to Timbo, Arkansas for another tent meeting! Apprecaite your prayers and thanks for dropping by and checking on what is going on in the work God has called us into!

Moline Kansas, Tent Meeting

Mary and I have reverted back to some earlier days! The days when I preached and she prepared some Dutch Oven Cooked Meals. This was the first meeting in some time where we have done this without any help from others. God has blessed! The food brings people to hear the Word of God. The first meal she prepared was on Monday evenig, then one last night, and the final one tonight.
Our thanks to Pastor Gary Boles and the wonderful folks at Moline Community Fellowship for the vision in reaching others with the Gospel of Christ. Even though the temps have been very high, people have come and each evening, we have had more than the previous one. O.V. and Tommy Keith have done a great job with the music, and Mary has done tremendous on the meals. We are set up on main street, so about everyone in town knows about the tent meeting! Even though the numbers are not what we would have liked to see, we feel the Lord has blessed!

We are in the middle of the tent meeting here at Berean Baptist Church, Wendell, ID. God has saved two precious souls so far! Jeff and Donna Gore are providing the music, along with their daughter Molly. They are doing a great job in preparing the folks to hear the Gospel Message! As always, we enjoy working with them. We finish here tomorrow evening, then move to the Tim Moore Ranch for a two day tent meeting on Friday and Saturday. Once again the Gores will be providing the music, and we are praying for a great turnout and for more souls to be saved and lives changed!

Idaho Trip

We are sitting in an RV park,in Hagerman, ID, that will be our home for the next 8 days. We made it here about 3:00 this afternoon, both of us are doing fine. Had one little Hic Up along the way, a low tire, which brought to our attendtion a loose wheel bearing on our trailer. No large problem, tire had a leaking stem, bearings were ok, just loose, got it all fixed and on the road again for $10.00, not bad!!

We will start a tent meeting tomorrow at Berean Baptist Church in Wendell, ID, it goes though Wednesday, we move to the Tim Moore Ranch near Buhl, ID, just a few miles away to do a Friday and Saturday meeting. We apppreciate everyones prayers for Mary and I, along with Jeff and Donna Gore, and their daughter Molly, as we all minister in Idaho this week! Praying the Lord will save some souls and change some lives for His Glory!!!!

Colorado Cowboy Camp Meeting

We had a great camp, God blessed with souls saved and lives touched! Our thanks to Hank Smith and the committee for having me preach again this year! We have preached this camp over 10 different times in past years! This committee has always worked hard! We preached 10 services from Wednesday evening thru Sunday evening!

Pictures show the eating area as three meals per day were prepared by the camp cooks, the old fashioned way, using Dutch Ovens and over a wood fire! The other picture is of a man welding up the spring hanger on our trailer! This is the second one that has broken!

We ask that you join us in prayer about the direction we should take in getting another trailer or not. This one is a 2005, that is not old for most trailers, but we pull our trailers over 30,000 miles per year, so with over 100,000 miles, it is shaking apart! Normally, we would consider trading it off, however, getting another one right now seems out of the picture, since our schedule is the way it is.

We have folks always asking what can they do for us; our answer right now is just pray for the Lord to fill our schedule, or at least give us enough meetings to justify a new trailer. He will do it, or He will let us know we do not need one right now, and we are willing to except what He wants done!

Thanks To A Great Crew

This is the Rolling Hills Cowboy Camp Committee. This group of people are the ones that worked hard, prayed diligently, and sacrificed greatly their time, effort and money to see that the 17th annual Rolling Hills Cowboy Camp Meeting was held. God honored their efforts, we had at least 7 saved and several re dedications.

We have been at all 17 camps, and God has blessed each year with souls saved and lives changed. Our thanks to Jack Martin and all his crew for doing such a great job, and taking such good care of Mary and I while with them. We will never forget how wonderfully gracious this people were, and how in the middle of a very hard week they took time to honor Mary and I on our 50th wedding anniversary! May God bless each of these and their families for their love and care for God and His people!

Fifty Years of Great Happiness!

It was June 4th, 1960, we got married in Miami, Oklahoma. June 4th, 2010, 50 years later we are happier and more blessed than ever before! We spent this day in a Cowboy Camp Meeting in Lamar, Colorado, God blessed with souls saved and lives changed in the meeting! Our thanks to the wonderful folks at Rolling Hills Camp for putting together the ice cream and cake event to help us celebrate our great day!!! Thanks group, it was neat to say the least!

We held a tent meeting at Wann, OK on Mother's Day weekend. We were told by some that to hold a revival meeting on that weekend was not such a good idea. Well, let me tell them, God blessed with good crowds, and with at lest four saved, two re dedications and another one for Baptism! Fact is, the evening service on Mother's Day was one of the best attended services of the meeting. It also was cold, and wet, but God still blessed! We heated the tent with Propane Infrared Heaters, and everyone was nice and warm.

Out thanks to Pastor Chris Cooper, his wife Carrie, and to Steve Brinker, for all the work and preparations made. O.V. and Tommy Keith led the music and Jack and Carolyn Martin provided some great Dutch Oven Cooked meals each evening. Thanks to everyone for the tremendous support given to the meeting.

Bunker Hill Baptist Church

We had another tent meeting last week at Bunker Hill Baptist Church,near Vinita, Oklahoma. The weather was good. It was not an evangelistic crusade but rather a Bible Study held under the tent. The Stud was on Christian Persecution of the Past, and how our own country was founded upon Christian values.

Pastor Dean Williams and the folks at Bunker Hill treated us very well, they are a group of people that truly love the Lord and are reaching out to people in that area. Our thanks to Dean and the Church for the wonderful meals provided. O.V. and Tommy Keith led the music and as always, we appreciate working with them. One afternoon, Mary and I prepared two Dutch Oven Cooked pies for the after service fellowship, with the home made ice cream the church provided.

Cowboy Gather'in, Inola, Oklahoma

We just finished a revival at Cowboy Gather'in in Inola, Oklahoma. This Cowboy Church is a great model for anyone interested in starting a Cowboy Church. Pastor Roy Shoop is a man of God who has a compassion for souls, and has such a desire to reach those in his area with the message of Jesus Christ. We had over 200 in attendance on Sunday Morning and although the attendance was less for the evening services, we still had great crowds and new people come each service. God blessed with one man getting saved, and several re dedications! When we left last night, a man followed us to the truck and told us how much he appreciated the services, and that when we were there last year, he got saved and his life has not been the same since! He is sold out for Jesus, and a man who serves the Lord with great passion and commitment!
It is things like that which keeps us going, knowing God is still working, peoples lives are still being changed! THANKS BE GO GOD THAT HE IS STILL ALLOWING ME TO DO WHAT WE DO!

The Crew At Nash

We finished the meeting at FBC Nash, Oklahoma. Had good attendance and the folks there treated us very well. Like we told someone, we left there a bigger man than we were when we came! About 10 pounds bigger!!!!!

The picture is our crew, O.V. and Tommy Keith, the pastor Sam Farris and his wife, Connie, and of course Mary and myself. It was more a church revival than a crusade, and we were told by many how much the meeting met to them.

We start Sunday morning at Cowboy Gather'n in Inola, Oklahoma. Pastor Roy Shoop is the pastor, we have been with him several times in the past and we are looking for the Lord to bless there also!

Cowboy Valentine Service, Lenapah, OK

This was the first Cowboy Valentine Service we have held. We have had the Christmas programs with great success so we felt God leading in this Valentine Service. Mary and I decided to rent the old gym at Lenapah, our daughter in law Crystal Cody, and grand daughter, Robyn Cody, decorated the area. Our daughter Sheri Martin and Mary done the cooking. My great grandson, Christian helped me move and set up tables and chairs. About a year ago we had James Rogers scheduled to come for a meeting and the weather was so bad he was unable to come. We had rescheduled him for this meeting, God was good and the weather held, and he and Lois were able to make it. James shared with the crowd about Moses McCarley, a 1800's circuit riding preacher. He was a great hit and everyone enjoyed the time together.

We had scheduled Charlene Norris to sing, but her husband Willie became ill and was hospitalized, and had to have a growth removed from his back. They are waiting test results now, but about 17 years ago, Willie had to have lung surgery for cancer and we are all praying this mass is not cancer. Art Miller and Steve Brinker filled in for us on a moments notice and done a great job. Thanks to Art and Steve for their help! One of our dear friends from Dewey, Oklahoma, Barbara Winget, came early and helped Mary and Sheri in the kitchen, thanks Barbara for your help!

The results were outstanding. We had 133 present. James present a moving program, and when the invitation was given and the results totaled, we saw 7 saved and 28 re dedications! Praise the Lord!!!

Today, Tuesday, Feb.16th, I was asked to preach at a nursing home in Nowata. We did and God blessed us with a man giving his heart to Jesus Christ! I do not know why it is so hard to get pastors to do Nursing Home Services. Those folks love the Lord and ever now and then, we see some give their hearts to Christ! We thank the Lord for the opportunities He gives!

We are in revival late this week, then head out for two meetings in Colorado, two in Arizona, and two in New Mexico. We appreciate your prayers for us as we travel! God bless, take care and know we love you all !!!

A LONG BLOG FROM OUR HEART

Dear Friends,

Recently we heard a preacher make a statement concerning the Mayan Calendar and the date of the worlds end as December 21, 2012. I listened with increased interest as he explained his statement. He continued to share how he had checked it out and it seemed quite creditable. He went on to say not only did the Mayan Calendar end then, also there were going to be an alignment of the planets that will cause such a cosmic strain upon the earth that it could tear it apart. People left that service talking about the world coming to an end in 2012.

What these people, as well as that preacher, need to realize is that according to the Word of God which we know is the Holy Bible, no man knows the hour of the day of the Lord's return or the end of time. Mark 13:32 (KJV).

I am certainly not an expert on eschatology, (the study of last things), but I do know this type of thing has been going on since the beginning of Christianity. I thought it may be interesting to some people to just be reminded of the number of times people have predicted the end was going to happen on a certain date.

Maybe they have forgotten or have not even heard about some of these predictions that we found searching the web and viewing different web sites. This is certainly not all of them, but just a few.

In 999 many Europeans gave away their possessions to the Catholic Church, to prepare their souls for the expected end of the world on January 1, 1000. The Catholic priests carefully recorded all donations to the church and refused to give them back when Christ failed to show up on schedule.

A man named Gerard decided that the millennium had actually started in 306 AD, during Constantine's reign. Thus, the world end was expected in 1306 AD.

John of Toledo predicted the end of the world during 1186. This estimate was based on the alignment of many planets.

Pope Innocent III computed it would be in 1284, he done so by adding 666 years onto the date the Islam was founded.

The Old Believers in Russia believed that the end of the world would occur in 1669. About 20 thousand burned themselves to death to protect themselves from the Antichrist.

Benjamin Keach, a 17th century Baptist, predicted the end of the world would come in the year 1689.

Charles Wesley, one of the founders of Methodism, thought Doomsday would be in 1794.

Ellen White, founder of the Seventh Day Adventists movement, made many predictions of the timing of the end of the world. All failed. On June 27, 1850 she prophesized that only a few months remained before the end. She wrote: "My accompanying angel said, 'Time is almost finished. Get ready, get ready, get ready.' ...now time is almost finished...and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months."

On Feb. 14, 1835, Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon church, attended a meeting of church leaders. He said that the meeting had been called because God had commanded it. He announced that Jesus would return within 56 years. That would have been Feb. 15, 1891. (History of the Church 2:182)

The Watchtower Society (WTS) or its members have predicted many dates. Since late in the 19th century, they had taught that the "battle of the Great Day of God Almighty" (Armageddon) would happen in 1914 . It didn't. The next major estimate was 1925. Watchtower magazine predicted: "The year 1925 is a date definitely and clearly marked in the Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914. They have set other dates in 1941, 1975, as well as 1994.

Meteorologist Albert Porta predicted that the conjunction of 6 planets would generate a magnetic current that would cause the sun to explode and engulf the earth on Dec. 17, 1919.

In 1978 Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, California announced that the Rapture was coming in 1981.

Many of us remember the Prophecy teacher Edgar Whisenant published a book entitled "88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Occur in 1988.

A Florida preacher Peter Ruckman stated, based on his inside knowledge of the King James Version, that the Rapture was to come in 1990, give or take a year or two, and that the Millennium would begin by 2000 or earlier.

Florida Assemblies of God preacher Benny Hinn predicted that the Rapture would come in 1993, and also that God would destroy all homosexuals in America by 1994 or 1995 at the very latest.

Harold Camping, the founder of Christian Family Radio. In his book 1994? (published by Vantage Press in 1992), Camping claims to have finally solved the riddles of the Bible's prophecies of the end. As the title indicates, he lays out an argument that Jesus Christ will return in the year 1994, more exactly in October of that year.

On May 5, 2000, all of the planets were supposed to have been in alignment. Some predicted the end would come.

For the past several decades, Jack Van Impe has hinted at nearly every year as being the time for the rapture. Normally, he has only gone out one or two years from the current calendar year. However, Jack's latest projection for the rapture goes out several years. His new math uses 51 years as the length of a generation. If you add 51 years to 1967, the year Israel recaptured Jerusalem, you get 2018. Once you subtract the seven-year tribulation period, you arrive at 2011.

Grand Rapids, MI. They claim that the rapture of the church will occur on May 21, 2011 AD. Then on October 21, 2011 the world will be destroyed by fire, and that will be the end of the world.

Friends, please listen, no man knows the day or the hour the Lord will come. Nor when the world will come to an end. The only thing you need to know is to be ready when it does come. The Bible is very clear on how to get ready! Please, we beg you to hear the Word of God, hear what Jesus said in Luke 13:5. Unless one repents, they will likewise perish. Jesus had just been told about those that had been killed by a tower that fell, and those that died at the direction of Pilate. Again, be ready when death comes, know you are safe in the hands of God by accepting what God did for us through His Son Jesus. The whole sum of the matter is found in what the Apostle Paul wrote to those of Rome.

Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

THESE MEN WITH BROKEN HEARTS

Over 50 years ago a man wrote a song by that title. His name was Hank Williams. Hank Williams died a young man, 29 years old. He had a great talent, yet he suffered from a broken life, which no doubt led to his early death. Many of the songs he wrote were from the results of his broken life.
There are many people today that have broken hearts. Some are broken due to unwise decisions they made in their life. However there are some who suffer as a result of circumastances which may happen due to events beyond their control. Among that group are pastors, and their wives that are forced to leave their church. Many of those have broken hearts; scared deep . Some cover their feeling well while others do not. The hurt is just too deep. When we see these, regardless of which group they come from, it might do us all well to remember a few of the words from Hank’s song:
You've never walked in that man's shoes or saw things through his eyes,
Or stood and watched with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies.
Some were paupers, some were kings, and some were masters of the arts,
But in their shame they're all the same, these men with broken hearts.
Life sometimes can be so cruel that a heart will pray for death.
God, why must these living dead know pain with every breath?
So help your brother along the road no matter where he starts,
For the God that made you made them too these men with broken hearts.
Many pastors whom have answered their call from God, do so only to find an enemy waiting to destroy them. The enemy, all too often, were the very ones they were called to shepherd. There becomes a conflict that results in the termination of the pastor. These men end up with broken hearts, and their hurt is just as real as those spoken of in Hank’s song. All too often, the results end up the same. A life cut far too short or a talent cut off.
Our prayer this Thanksgiving is for those men with Broken Hearts to know God loves them and will provide for them the love for which He is known. Whatever it is that life throws their way, God is able to take it, change it, and better it. We pray for these men to allow Jesus Christ and His Grace to minister to them! Let us all remember, except for the grace of God, there go I.
This holiday, look around you, if you see a hurting man, woman, or child regardless of why they hurt, minster to them, let them know you care and are willing to share, His Love for them!
